Since the introduction back in 2007 by the Government for the requirement for EPC Certificates to be produced for anyone wanting to sell their property or rent out their property out.
The Certificates are based on the colour coding system we are all familiar with when purchasing our electronic goods and white goods for the home. The aim is to identify where energy efficient measures could be introduced into a property with an indication of cost to install and savings this improvement could yield for the resident.
RPA employ a trained domestic energy assessor who can undertake the surveys and provide the recommendation report and ratings chart information for existing residential properties.
All reports carried out are stored on the Government website ‘Landmark’ where over time a clear picture of the energy efficiency of the Uk wide housing stock is produced to enable targeting of improvement measures like loft insulation, cavity wall insulation, improved windows or even down to whole house running on low energy light bulbs can make a difference.
Further updates will be coming in the new year as the EPC Process and Certificates will be undergoing a change to incorporate the new Government plans for the ‘Green Deal’
